Products should not be stored in a WET area and at ROOM TEMPERATURE. Avoid leaving them outside, below freezing… especially for liquid products!

If it is a liquid (SeptiDrain, Septi RV), after freezing, the products lose about half their effectiveness. You can still use them. However, they may be a little less effective after thawing.

If it’s dry bacteria (Septi +, SeptiMax), there’s not really a problem. They are much more resistant to cold. Just store them at room temperature afterwards.

The products can be stored for about 2 years before there is a loss of effectiveness (i.e. a reduction in the number of bacteria per gram).

Nevertheless, the products can be used even after 2 years. There are no real expiration dates. Where the products are stored is more important than how long they have been there.

Yes, preferably leave them inside the house near the toilet where you can easily remember to do the treatment monthly. If you leave them in the garage or shed, rodents may eat them (this happens sometimes) or it may be too cold or wet for the products.
